Ray Studios Unifies Payments Across Europe with Stripe Solution Delivered by Square1
Ray Studios has successfully rolled out a new Stripe-powered payment platform across France, Spain and Belgium, streamlining operations, improving compliance and creating a more flexible customer payment experience.

Ray Studios has rolled out a new Stripe-powered payment platform across France, Spain and Belgium, simplifying payment operations, supporting regulatory compliance and creating a more flexible customer experience.
The fast-growing tattoo removal provider partnered with Square1 as part of its expansion across Europe, seeking a payment infrastructure capable of supporting in-clinic, online and remote payments through a single Stripe account and reporting framework.
Operating across multiple countries presented a unique set of challenges. In addition to managing payments across different markets, Ray Studios needed to address specific regulatory requirements in France, where tattoo removal is classified as a medical procedure and payments must be allocated appropriately between practitioners and support staff at the point of capture.
To meet these requirements, Square1 deployed Stripe Payments and Stripe Terminal across all three countries within a single week, providing Ray Studios with a unified payment environment and consistent operational processes across its growing network of clinics.
A key element of the project was the implementation of payment splitting at source for French operations. By automatically allocating funds during the payment process, the solution helps ensure compliance requirements are met while significantly reducing reconciliation complexity and administrative overhead.
The platform was also designed to accommodate the realities of day-to-day clinic operations. Through the use of Stripe Payment Links, Ray Studios can now quickly generate branded payment requests for customers who need to pay remotely, have forgotten their payment cards or require follow-up after an appointment.
The additional flexibility has also provided a practical solution for managing no-show appointments, creating new opportunities to recover revenue that may previously have been lost.
Since the rollout, Ray Studios has reported significant operational efficiencies, with omnichannel payments reducing the time spent on manual reconciliation, payment follow-ups and the management of multiple payment workflows. The business estimates the new platform is saving approximately two working days per month, allowing staff to focus more time on customer-facing activities.
The implementation also provides a scalable foundation for future growth. By consolidating payment operations within a single Stripe account, Ray Studios can manage activity across multiple markets through a unified reporting and management framework while maintaining compliance with local requirements.
For Square1, the project demonstrates how modern payment infrastructure can support businesses operating across multiple jurisdictions, balancing regulatory requirements with the need for a seamless customer experience.
As service businesses continue to expand internationally, the ability to deliver flexible, omnichannel payment experiences while maintaining operational simplicity is becoming increasingly important. The Ray Studios deployment highlights how organisations can achieve both through carefully designed payment architecture and the strategic use of Stripe’s platform capabilities.
