Operating a diverse portfolio of education brands across multiple countries, Northius delivers programmes spanning technology, veterinary science, audiovisual production and civil-service exam preparation. As the organisation continued to grow, it sought to enhance the payment experience for learners while maintaining operational efficiency across a complex multi-brand environment.

Although Northius was already using Stripe successfully for enrolment and tuition payments, managing multiple brands through a single Stripe account created challenges around branding consistency and customer experience. The organisation also wanted to deepen its internal understanding of Stripe Billing and financial reconciliation to support future growth.

Working with Square1’s Consulting and Development teams, Northius implemented a tailored middleware solution that generates brand-specific payment pages while maintaining a unified payment infrastructure behind the scenes. The approach allows each educational brand to retain its own identity throughout the payment journey, helping create a more cohesive and trusted experience for learners.

In addition to the technical implementation, Square1 delivered a series of specialised training and advisory sessions covering Stripe Billing, reporting and operational best practices. The workshops were designed to help Northius teams gain greater confidence managing subscriptions, reconciliation processes and ongoing platform optimisation.

The new middleware also introduced automated notifications for key subscription events, providing operational teams with greater visibility and enabling faster responses to billing-related activity.

Since the rollout, Northius has enhanced the learner payment experience across its portfolio while giving internal teams greater control over day-to-day payment operations. The organisation can now maintain distinct brand identities throughout the enrolment process while benefiting from the efficiencies of a single Stripe platform.

The project demonstrates how organisations operating multiple brands can balance consistency and operational simplicity with the need for tailored customer experiences.
